South African Safari

We just concluded our African Safari Adventure at Zulu Nyala and I can NOT say enough amazing things about it!

I can tell you this was not something on my bucket list or really anything I had a GREAT urge to do. This trip kind of fell into our laps so we decided to go.
BEST. DECISION. EVER.

It truly was the most magical, exhilarating, memorable, learning & life-altering trip I have ever been on. This needs to be on your list if it isn't! I highly recommend Zulu Nyala for a first timer to make sure this is "your cup of tea."They did a phenomenal job with 2 safari's a day and other excursions you can do while staying with them. Accommodations were great, food was good and the people were fantastic! Never did I ever think I would want to go on ANOTHER safari after this one, BUT, I do and will!

Alex, our Safari Guide, was PHENOMENAL! It makes a HUGE difference in having someone that you can connect with.

The other VERY impactful thing that occurred was hearing about the rhino poachers. I am not posting any pictures of them due to not wanting it to get in the wrong hands. It is the most disgusting and vile act I have ever heard of in order to get their horn, which people think has some magical power. Absolutely horrendous. Things we wish we would have done differently:
  • Go on any excursion where you are seeing another reserve. We went to Phinda which is where the Lions were, it was UNREAL, though didn't do another and we regret that.
  • Also to ensure you have a lot of their currency, which is Rand.
  • We didn't have to get ANY shots where we went, they were recommended though not required. Also, I bought malaria medicine here in the US, which cost me $120. Shane bought it in the airport pharmacy in Johannesburg for $40!!! SAME MEDICINE.

All of my outfits were from Rent the Runway. I am trying out their Unlimited Monthly Membership and this was my first round. LOVED everything!

Below are a few of my favorite pictures:
